Peter Barkworth trained at Rada in London (1946-48). In his last year as a student, Barkworth appeared on television in a live, 20-minute BBC play at Alexandra Palace!
Barkworth's father gave up tobacco and alcohol to send him £2 15 shillings a week "to make ends meet".
Peter Barkworth also taught at RADA from 1955-63.
Peter Barkworth had an extensive rep and West End theatre career before making his name acting on TV in the likes of The Power Game and Telford's Change.
