In the 1980s John Lloyd was a TV producer at the BBC and ITV.
He was heavily involved in the creation of Not the Nine O'Clock News and Spitting Image and Lloyd also produced Blackadder.
Since 1987 John Lloyd focussed on being a television commercials director.
QI, which was first shown on BBC2 in September 2003, was his first TV series for 14 years.
