David Nobbs wrote material for That Was The Week That Was and The Two Ronnies but David Nobbs's most celebrated work was his adaptation of his own novel, The Death Of Reginald Perrin.
On TV it became the acclaimed sitcom The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin starring Leonard Rossiter, which ran between 1976 and 1979.
After it, Nobbs continued writing for television including Fairly Secret Army, which featured Geoffrey Palmer's character from Reggie Perrin.
Another Nobbs sitcom in 1980 was the flop, The Sun Trap.
