After studying English literature at Cambridge, Alistair Appleton went to Poland and taught at the University of Gdansk.
Alistair Appleton then went to Germany and in 1997 he started to present Deutsche Welle's youth current affairs show HEAT, after working there as a translator.
After returning to the UK, Alistair Appleton continued working as a presenter. A big breakthrough came in 2000 with House Doctor.
As well as presenting the likes of House Doctor with Ann Maurice and Cash in the Attic, Alistair Appleton has also acted in the likes of Rhona, Footballers Wives and Doctor Who.
In 2008, Alistair Appleton presented Homes and Property on ITV.
