Phyllida Law, the mother of Emma Thompson, plays Stephen Fry's aunt Auriel in Kingdom.
Phyllida Law met her husband, Eric Thompson of The Magic Roundabout fame in 1953 when they acted in Romeo and Juliet. They were married until Eric Thomspon passed away in 1982.
As well as Kingdom, her TV credits include Pinochet in Suburbia, Rumpole of the Bailey, and Dixon of Dock Green.
Her film credits include Peter's Friends, Emma, The Time Machine, Nanny McPhee and Miss Potter.
