Profile Paul Potts was a 36 year-old mobile phone salesman, living in Port Talbot when he won the final of Britain's Got Talent in 2007.

Paul Potts had previously won £8000 on My Kind Of Music.

Paul Potts graduated from University in philosophy, theology, film and television studies before working for Tesco in Bristol, stacking shelves.

He then worked at Bristol Cathedral as a verger for three months.

Paul Potts first sang opera at 28 in a karaoke competition.

Paul Potts sang opera semi-professionally but a motorbike accident in 2003, in which he broke his collar bone, set back his singing.

It led to a difficult time where he got £30,000 in debt and put on a couple of stone in weight.

However, Paul Potts's decision on the toss of a coin to enter Britain's Got Talent came to his rescue.

In May 2009, he released his second album, Passione.
