Christopher Biggins is the son of a security officer.
Biggins trained at the Bristol Old Vic.
His TV roles have included playing Lukewarm in Porridge, Ossie Whitworth in Poldark, and Nero in I, Claudius.
Biggins also had various roles on children TV including Rentaghost.
Biggins developed a reputation as as often being on hand at celebrity restaurants and haunts as well as at first nights, and charity bashes.
The Official London Theatre Guide quotes him as saying: "Oh I'd go to the opening of an envelope".
