Keith Floyd is a prolific writer of food books and presenter of TV programmes.
In his early years he was a 2nd lieutenant in the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment in Germany.
After leaving the army, he worked in restaurants, before rising up the ranks and eventually owning restaurants himself, both in the UK and abroad.
Keith Floyd made his name on TV presenting a variety of cookery programmes with, as the BBC puts it 'a glass of red wine in his hand'.
Floyd kicked off his career presenting food programmes with Floyd on Fish.
The 'Floyd on ...' title would produce numerous series of the years.
In September 2009, Keith Floyd died after a heart attack, aged 65.
