John Loughton was a 20 year old Chairman of the Scottish Youth Parliament when he entered Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack in 2008.
Three and a half weeks later, John Loughton won Big Brother: Celebrity Highjack.
John Loughton had been elected to represent the Edinburgh North and Leith Constituency in the Scottish Youth Parliament.
John Loughton was studying for a Politics and Sociology degree at Stirling University.
Back in 2004 as a Craigroyston High School pupil John Loughton, from Muirhouse, was already showing signs of being precocious.
The Scotsman reports that John Loughton:
"won the Community Involvement category. However, such is the breadth of the 17-year-old's talents, he could easily have scooped honours in several other fields ... As well as working with the elderly in Muirhouse and Pilton, John has made presentations in the City Chambers on youth issues, and has volunteered for the Edinburgh Youth Council."
On the first day of Big Brother: Celebrity Highjacker, John Loughton passed the test set by Matt Lucas and so secured a place in the final.
