Martin Bashir has had a long career presenting and reporting in current affairs.
At Panorama he was most famous for his interview with Princess Diana in 1995, during which she admitted having an adulterous affair James Hewitt.
After Panorama, Martin Bashir worked on ITV's Tonight and had another high profile interview this time with Michael Jackson in 2003.
He then moved to USA and appeared on ABC News Nightline.
